Wash your floors using non-toxic solutions

One of the simplest ways you can make your life greener is to alter your cleaning routine. While cleaning with chemicals seems the best way to remove dirt and stains from the floor, there are many non-toxic solutions that are good for you and for environment. The best part is that most of these cleaning solutions are already in your home.

Baking soda
Baking soda is one of the most powerful weapons in your arsenal for green cleaning. To clean stains on the carpet, just sprinkle a small amount of baking soda on it and sprinkle a little water to form a thick paste. Rub with a sponge to remove the stain. Finally rinse and wait for it to dry.

Vinegar
Vinegar is almost as powerful as the baking soda to remove stains, but is extremely versatile and can be used in both carpet and hard surfaces. Make a cleaning solution by mixing 1 cup of vinegar to a quart (1 liter) of water and sprinkle it directly on the floor. You can spray the mixture on a stained floor section or if you try to scrub a hard surface, you can also spray the entire floor to do so.

Soap dish
If you have a problem with a large stain that need attention you can dilute the soap dish and use the mixture to the general cleaning. Spray the mixture on the stain carpets or hardwood floors to clean before scrub them with dish soap effectively. If you decide to use this product for cleaning you will also benefit from a clean, fresh scent afterwards.

Carbonated water
Carbonated water is not as strong as the other cleaners from this list but its simplicity and usefulness can not be refused. If you have a simple stain, pour some carbonated water, wait until effervescence ceases and then clean with a sponge. This trick works effectively in both carpet and hard surface floors.
