A stained bathtub will make the whole bathroom look like a mess, but despite the fact that you can’t always maintain the cleaning there is a clever trick that will make you bathtub look shiny again, effortlessly. Besides periodic cleaning, you should know that any bathtub needs intensive cleaning, preferably with professional products, depending on the severity of existing stains.
But why using all sort of cleaning products that irritate your nose and skin, when you can use traditional cleaning: baking soda and white vinegar are the perfect couple that will help you to remove any stains from your bathtub and not only.
Baking soda and hydrogen peroxide
Old stains on the bathtub can be easily removed with baking soda. Mix equal quantities of baking soda with hydrogen peroxide, and apply the resulting mixture all over the bathtub and let it act for 40 minutes. Wipe everything at the end with a soft cloth.
If the entire bathtub is stained, then add a bigger amount of this solution in a sprayer and spray over the entire bathtub surface.
Finally, rinse well the bathtub with warm water.
Vinegar and baking soda
Fill the bathtub with hot water and add 3 liters of vinegar and 4 16 tablespoons of baking soda. Leave the tub with this solution for 3-4 hours, and then allow the water to drain and wipe well everything with a sponge soaked in dish detergent. You will see how the bathtub will be cleaner and whiter than ever. In addition, the vinegar disinfects, and in these few hours it will be perfectly cleaned and disinfected.
I recommend that you should keep a spray bottle filled with vinegar in the bathroom, and to spray over the bathtub after each bath. The smell isn’t very pleasant but you’ll avoid harsh cleaners afterwards.
