Very playful, in search of constant attention, loved and loyal, cats can be a very pleasant company for anyone. But often, the advantage of having a cat come hand-in-hand with unpleasant things, such as the persistent urine cat smell.
There are chemical solutions that you can use, but which can be irritating to both you and your pet, so I recommend you try less harmful options.
Dry the area
If the cat forgets about its litter and pees on the carpet or on the sofa, you need to dry the area with paper towels or a cloth. Before cleaning the area, it’s important to absorb all excess liquid. Thus, sanitation will be easier.
Baking soda, water and vinegar solution to remove cat urine
Prepare a mixture of baking soda and vinegar, and add a few drops of water. Apply this this mixture over the pee stain, let it act, and then rub the area well with a brush. To get rid of cat urine smell impregnated in the sofa or on the carpet, you can also add dish detergent or a few drops of essential oil to the above mixture.
Apple vinegar, suitable for clothes stained with cat urine
If your cat happened to pee on your clothes, you can get rid of the unpleasant smell by adding a cup of apple vinegar in the washing machine besides the laundry detergent. After washing, the clothes should be rinsed with a laundry conditioner. In this way, the smell of cat urine will be just a bad memory.
