Accidents may happen, so most of us have faced at least once with blood stains on clothes or on bedding. They are incredibly hard to remove, whether on white clothes or on colored clothes, and especially if you don’t act immediately to remove the stain.
Hydrogen peroxide to remove blood stains
One of the best ways to remove blood stains on clothing is by applying hydrogen peroxide over the stain. Unfortunately, however, this method can only be used for white clothes because hydrogen peroxide removes the colors.
Just pour hydrogen peroxide over the stain. If the stained clothing item is made of a fine fabric, such as silk, mix hydrogen peroxide with water in equal proportions. Use a clean cloth to gently wipe the affected area. Repeat until the stain has become very pale. Wash the clothing item in cold water with laundry detergent.
Remove blood stains with salty water
For colored fabrics you can try to apply a salt water solution. Dissolve a spoonful of salt in a cup of water and soften the affected area. Leave it for at least 30 minutes, and then rinse and wash with a laundry detergent.
Keep in mind that in many cases you need to let the stain soak overnight in cold water.
