5 Important Steps To Clean An Acrylic Bathtub With Natural Products

Cleaning an acrylic bathtub is easy as long as you use the right products. Covering scratches is easy, so it’s not a good idea to use a harsh brush. Solvent cleaners can damage the acrylic, eventually causing it to break. To clean it safely, follow these steps.

Step 1 – Preparing the tub
Remove everything from the tub, such as shampoo and soap bottles, and wipe the bottom to remove any soap foam. Now is a good time to clean the items you use in the bathtub. If you have a shower sponge, put it in the sink in warm water, with little shampoo or liquid dish detergent.

Step 2 – Cleaning the interior
To clean the inside of the acrylic bathtub, fill it with warm water and add 3 or 4 drops of liquid dish detergent. Let it stand for 30 minutes. Allow the tube to drain and use the sponge to wipe the residue. If you notice that you still have stubborn stains that won’t g, sprinkle baking soda over them and use a soft sponge to rub them gently in a circular motion. This step may be repeated several times. Rinse the surface thoroughly.

Step 3 – Clean the exterior
You may have some stains from dyed products such as a bath salt or shampoo. Use the sponge again with baking soda on it to remove them. Rinse and wipe the entire surface with dishwasher applied on a damp sponge. Then use an old toothbrush to clean around the bathtub (the walls and corners of the bathtub). Rinse again and dry the surface with a cloth.

Step 4 – Sanding
Sanding the bat will restore the glow that it had when it was new. So clean it well with a wet cloth, and then polish the tub with a dry cloth, until the bathtub shines.

Step 5 – Maintenance
To maintain the bathtub clean, you must clean once a week with dish detergent and a sponge.
