4 Non-Toxic Ways To Clean Those Dirty Tile Joints

Cleaning the joints between the tiles, because it’s getting black over time, it’s a real challenge for every housewife.

There are special steam machines to clean effectively the tile joints, but they are really expensive and toxic, and the results are actually the same as the following natural solutions. So, why not using these natural solutions, non-toxic and on a budget!

Here’s how you can effectively clean joints without using toxic products:

1. Hydrogen peroxide
Spray the tile joints with hydrogen peroxide, and let them act for 10-15 minutes. Rub thoroughly with an old toothbrush, and you will notice how the dirt will dissolve and it will easily be removed.

2. Baking soda and vinegar
Moisten the joints with water, pour in baking soda powder and rub well. Or you can prepare a baking soda paste with hot water.

Or you can mix a cup of vinegar in 500 ml of water, put the mixture into a spray bottle, and spray it over the baking powder. Right after the foam appears, let it act for a couple of minutes, and then rinse with water. You will get a clean and shiny surface.

3. Salt and lemon juice
Mix salt with the juice from 1 lemon until you get a paste. Apply the paste over the joints, and rub well with an old toothbrush. Let it act for 10-15 minutes, and then rinse.
This mixture is also effective for getting rid of rust. Also, only lemon juice can be used as such, sprayed over the tile joints. After 10-15 minutes you can wipe it with a damp cloth, and then rinse.

4. Coke
Pour Coke over the joints and let it work for 10-15 minutes, and then rinse with warm water.
If dirt persists, rub the joints with a toothbrush, and then rinse with warm water.
